Service Hours Information – please stay tuned for revisions to the service hours policy for the 2020-21 school year

6th – 8th Grade Families,

Per the Raymond School Student Handbook, “students will complete service hours at the following levels…”

6th Grade = 10 Hours

7th Grade = 20 Hours

8th Grade = 30 Hours

In an effort to continually improve the student experience at Raymond School, we are reviewing this policy and plan to make changes for the 2020-2021 school year.  In the meantime, we will use the following guidelines in regards to service hours expectations.

  1. Service hours are an expectation for all sixth through eighth
  2.  grade students. The specific hours stated for each grade level in the policy will be treated as an approximation.  It is our intention to promote the quality of service experiences, rather than the accumulation of hours.
  3. Student hours will be tracked in Skyward.  Parents and students may view their accumulated service hours by accessing the “Student Info” tab on Skyward Family Access. Community service hours are listed underneath the “Graduation Year” date.
  4. All service hours for Raymond School sponsored events (eg. Spaghetti Dinner, Trunk-or-Treat, Breakfast Club, etc.) will be documented and tracked by the main office. Raymond staff overseeing volunteer experiences will submit student hours directly to the main office.  Students do not need to submit Service Hours Tracking Sheets for Raymond School sponsored volunteer opportunities.
  5. Service hours completed during non-school events should be documented on the Service Hours Tracking Sheet.  Completed forms should be submitted to the main office. Copies of the Service Hours Tracking Sheet can be found in the main office or on the Raymond School website.
  6. Students in need of service hours can contact the main office.  Every opportunity will be made to provide service opportunities through Raymond School sponsored events.

We appreciate your support and feedback during this time of transition.  Please, reach out with any questions or suggestions. We look forward to the continual improvement of our service-minded learning environment here at Raymond School.
